Cutting

Cutting is a common form of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) among adolescents, often used as a maladaptive coping mechanism for emotional distress. It is associated with various mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, and borderline personality traits. Evidence-based treatments for cutting behaviour include dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT).
