Maurício Scopel Hoffmann is an adjunct professor and head of the Department of Neuropsychiatry at the Universidade Federal de Santa Maria (UFSM, Brazil), professor of the Postgraduate Program in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Brazil), visiting researcher at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), member of the HiTOP consortium and a clinical psychiatrist (clinically active). He has a PhD in psychiatry and behavioral sciences (UFRGS). Postdoctoral periods at LSE (Newton Fellow) and UFRGS. His research concentrates in the areas of psychometrics, nosology and psychiatric epidemiology.
