Biography

Dr. Alessio Bellato is a Lecturer in Child and Adolescent Mental Health at the School of Psychology at the University of Southampton in the UK. He previously worked as a child clinical psychologist in Italy before embarking on his academic career in the UK and Malaysia. He is also a Joint Editor at JCPP Advances. At present, Alessio’s research is focused on exploring whether specific indicators of arousal regulation, such as heart rate variability, can be utilised as diagnostic markers for emotional dysregulation and internalising symptoms. He also investigates their potential in monitoring intervention outcomes in conditions like ADHD and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
