Biography
David Gagnon M.D. M.Sc. is a psychiatry resident at the Université de Montréal and a PhD candidate in psychiatric sciences and addictology. His research focuses on language development in autism, autistic developmental trajectories and the clinical semiology of autism. His theoretical work aims to refine the clinical recognition and phenotyping of autism, with particular attention to the atypical learning abilities that shape autistic development. David’s research has helped clarify the distinct trajectory and underlying mechanisms of early language acquisition in autism. His work lies at the intersection of developmental psychology, clinical psychiatry and psycholinguistics. Firmly grounded in clinical practice, David’s work reflects a broader commitment to translating developmental theory into concrete clinical approaches that are directly useful for children, families and clinicians.
