Williams Syndrome

Children and adolescents with Williams syndrome have an increased risk of mental health problems, particularly anxiety disorders and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Anxiety affects an estimated 50-80% of individuals with Williams syndrome, with specific phobias and generalised anxiety being most common. While social disinhibition and heightened sociability are characteristic of the syndrome, these traits can also contribute to social vulnerability and difficulties with peer relationships.
