Biography

Professor Susan Young is an internationally recognised Clinical and Forensic Psychologist and Clinical Neuropsychologist, with over 35 years’ experience specialising in ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions across the lifespan. She is Director of Psychology Services Ltd (UK) and has held senior academic and clinical positions at institutions including Imperial College London, King’s College London, and the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, where she led forensic research and development. Professor Young is widely known for bridging the gap between research and real-world practice. She is the author of several internationally used clinical tools, including the ADHD Child Evaluation (ACEv.2 and ACE+v.2) and the Diagnostic Autism Spectrum Interview (DASI-2), as well as evidence-based treatment programmes used in clinical, educational, and forensic settings worldwide. Her work focuses on understanding how neurodevelopmental differences shape behaviour, decision-making, and life outcomes — particularly in complex or high-risk contexts. She has published over 300 papers and regularly contributes to public policy, clinical guidance, and media discussions on ADHD and autism.
