Biography

Dr David Trickey is a leading Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Co-Director of the UK Trauma Council, with a specialisation in working with traumatized children, young people, and families since 2000, particularly those affected by domestic abuse and family homicide. He leads a specialist service for children in care and focuses on both direct clinical work and the supervision and support of other clinicians. Dr Trickey is also an expert trainer, presenting at international conferences and supervising research, and he acts as an expert witness in civil and criminal cases related to children and trauma. He was involved in the 2018 revision of the NICE Guidelines for PTSD. Dr Trickey draws on research to inform his clinical practice and contributes to the field through his work with the UK Trauma Council. He is chartered by the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.
