Biography

Athena is a PhD candidate in Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. Her PhD research focuses on investigating the relationship between adverse childhood experiences and adolescent psychopathology. Her current work forms part of the “Moving Beyond Inequality” programme funded by the Leverhulme Trust, which aims to reduce social inequalities by addressing the biological embedding of social adversity during the early years. Athena is particularly interested in using data-driven methods and large longitudinal datasets to study how childhood adversity increases the risk for mental health problems over time.
