Biography

Lauren is a PhD student funded by the NIHR School of Public Health Research and is supervised by Dr. Esther van Sluijs. Lauren’s PhD will explore who engages in school based prevention research and seeks to identify opportunities for more inclusive research and intervention practices. Before starting her PhD, Lauren worked as qualified teacher in London and the East of England. She completed a BSc in Psychology at the University of Bath and an Mphil in Educational Research at the University of Cambridge. After graduating, Lauren worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Psychology, Psychiatry and Neuroscience (King’s College London) and the Child and Adolescent Resilience and Mental Health (ChARM) research group at the University of Cambridge. Within these roles Lauren worked on various research projects exploring school based mental health outcomes and experiences. In addition, Lauren has contributed to research surrounding the impact of Covid-19 associated restrictions, including national lockdowns and school closures, on children and young people.
