Biography

Dr. Marta Francesconi is an Associate Professor at the Department of Psychology and Human Development, Institute of Education (IOE), University College London. She holds a PhD in Clinical-Experimental Neuroscience and Psychiatry from the Department of Neurology and Psychiatry at Sapienza University of Rome, where she also completed her MSc in Clinical Psychology and BSc in Developmental Psychology. Dr. Francesconi has extensive training in the assessment of young individuals, with expertise spanning clinical, functional, neurocognitive, social cognitive, and neurological soft signs domains. Since joining UCL in 2017, she has held successive research and teaching positions, including Research Associate, Research Fellow, and Lecturer in Psychology. She has also conducted research internationally, serving as a visiting researcher at the Department of Psychiatry, University of California San Diego. Her work bridges developmental psychology and clinical neuroscience, with a focus on understanding cognitive and neuropsychological development in youth.
