Insomnia

Insomnia is prevalent among children and adolescents with mental health disorders, affecting up to 25% of youth with depression. Chronic insomnia in young people is associated with increased risk of developing or worsening mental health problems, including depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders. Cognitive-behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I) has shown effectiveness in treating sleep problems in children and adolescents, often improving both sleep and mental health outcomes.
