Co-occurring

Co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders are prevalent among adolescents, with estimates suggesting that up to 60% of youth in substance use treatment have a co-occurring mental health disorder. Common co-occurring conditions include depression, anxiety, and ADHD. Integrated treatment approaches addressing both mental health and substance use simultaneously are considered best practice for co-occurring disorders in youth.
